City transport was suspended today in Pristina, after the company “Trafiku Urban” suspended traffic on all lines due to financial difficulties arising from the blockade of the Pristina Municipality budget.
Some private transport lines have also announced the cessation of work, Ekonomia Online reports.
The Mayor of Pristina, Perparim Rama, stated that the situation has reached a critical level and that citizens are exposed to risk like never before, and that the budget was blocked for political reasons.
He said that the city filed a criminal complaint against the Minister of Finance of the temporary Pristina institutions, Hekuran Murati, for violating the law.
The company “Urban Traffic” stated in a press release that the suspension of traffic occurred due to financial difficulties and a lack of fuel, and that they will resume normal operation immediately after the funds are paid out.
