The Serbian Orthodox Church and its believers today celebrate Spiritual Tuesday, the third day of one of the greatest holidays known as Pentecost, Trinity, or the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, which is observed on the 50th day after Easter and the tenth day after Ascension Day. Like the previous two days, today is also a red letter day.

Pentecost also represents the birthday of the Christian church and is also called Trinity Day.

Today you must not fast, as it is believed that everything will go wrong for those who do fast, and our people believe that one thing should be carried in your pocket to protect you from misfortune.

It is believed that powerful energies prevail in the period before and after this holiday, so those who visit monasteries seek forgiveness of sins or a cure for illness.

It is good, according to those informed, to bring consecrated water from these monasteries because it ensures harmony and happiness in the home for the next year.

This custom originates from the first Christians, who adopted it from the Jews, who decorated their places of worship and homes on the feast of Pentecost.

This reminded them of the time when they received the Ten Commandments through Moses, as well as the time of wandering in the desert after fleeing from Egypt, because in the desert they lived in huts made of branches and leaves.

On Pentecost, people weave wreaths of grass in the temple, which they then take home and leave next to the icon and oil lamp, and many carry them in their bags and cars.
