The logo used today by the best tennis player in history and one of the world’s best athletes, Novak Djokovic, is the work of graphic designer and illustrator Goran Trajkovic from Raska, the local portal “Razglas” announced today.

In 2012, as a member of the team at the company Logos, Trajkovic worked on designing the logo, while the complete visual identity, including the website that Djokovic still uses today, was developed within that team.

“The logo was supposed to be as simple as possible, like all logos, but not to resemble any other. It had to be completely original,” Trajkovic told “Razglas.”

The collaboration with Djokovic, as he said, began with work on a mobile application.

“In order to do the application, we first had to create a logo. Everything else came later,” stated the graphic designer.

Trajkovic said that for the initial idea, he wanted to use a racket and a ball, but he soon realized that a racket was too complicated a motif for a clean mark.

“Then something recognizable had to be drawn out of the ball. I drew out the initials. I think it is striking and unique,” said Trajkovic.

He adds that he was aware that, thanks to Djokovic’s name and results, any mark would become globally recognizable.

“Actually, Novak is the advertisement for that logo. Whatever I had done, it would have become famous,” he said.

As part of the project, work was also done on a video game inspired by the tennis player, which was never published.

“The game did not see the light of day not because it wasn’t good, but because Novak liked it very much and was aware that children could become too preoccupied with it. His goal is for them to play on the court, not at the computer,” said Trajkovic, who is also the founder and selector of the first comic book colony in this part of Europe and also the editor of the comic book magazine “Ras Comic.”

Trajkovic leads a school of drawing and painting in Raska, and his artistic expression also includes calligraphy.
