Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), the Internal Control Sector, in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Niš, arrested firefighter-rescuers D.M. (33) and D.M. (20) on suspicion that they stole weapons from the storage room of the Doljevac Police Station.

As stated in the MUP announcement, they were arrested on suspicion that from March 2024 to September 2025 they unlawfully entered the storage premises of the Doljevac Police Station and stole a larger quantity of firearms that became the property of the Republic of Serbia, and which had previously been delivered to the storage from the Niš Police Administration and the Aleksinac Police Station.

The stolen weapons were mechanically modified, after which they were sold to other individuals.

The suspects are charged with the criminal offenses of aggravated theft and unauthorized production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials, and they have been detained for up to 48 hours. After that, they will be brought before the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Niš, reports Tanjug.
