The sports public in Serbia and Russia was shaken by news arriving from Samara. Our football national team player Marija Vuković (35) has been diagnosed with cancer. The information was confirmed by her former club Krylia Sovetov, which addressed the public with an emotional statement and issued an appeal to fans and football lovers to provide support to the former player.
The club announced that Marija is currently undergoing treatment and is under constant medical supervision, with a message that they believe she will win this difficult life battle thanks to the strength, character, and fighting spirit that adorned her during her playing career.
Krylia Sovetov called on fans to leave messages of support in the comments on the official club channels, emphasizing that each of them will be forwarded to Marija to provide her with additional encouragement in the challenging period ahead.
The statement also points out that Vuković left a strong impression at the club during the previous season, where she worked with coach Dmitry Voetsky, which is why the message of support from Samara had a particularly emotional tone.
