Nikola Jokic, the NBA’s best basketball player, has arrived in China for a brand promotion, but not quietly and without the euphoria he usually prefers. On the contrary, he was met with the watchful eye of local media, who gave him a welcome so grand it resembled the premiere of a Hollywood blockbuster more than the arrival of a basketball star.
Banners, fans, costumes, sneakers for signing, and, believe it or not, a man dressed as a horse… All for an MVP who has clearly left a significant mark in the Far East, not just in Europe and the United States.

Some fans wore the sneakers Jokic wears, others had Denver Nuggets insignia, while some came fully equipped. Although Nikola traditionally dislikes media attention, his facial expression suggested he didn’t mind the gathered fans, who walked right next to the Serbian basketball player at the airport. You can see the scenes from Guangzhou in the attached video.

In addition to Guangzhou, Nikola will visit several other cities during the tour: Beijing, Foshan, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Shijiazhuang. This will be an opportunity not only to promote the brand and expand his fan base but also to further put the Denver Nuggets on the map, specifically in one of the world’s largest sports markets.
Meanwhile, in Serbia, the famous answer to the question of whether Jokic will wear the national team jersey this summer and represent Serbia at EuroBasket is still awaited. But while waiting for that answer, one thing is certain: Nikola himself has already become a global brand, as has his number 15 jersey, as you saw in the video.
