“This list of the 100 richest in the region was compiled by experts from two renowned consulting firms working on the New York Stock Exchange. They used the most reliable multipliers from Stern School of Business at New York University (and comparable companies), including market transaction results in the region and globally. Financial methodology and a range of tools were used to arrive at the most realistic company values. Quality data was considered — turnover, EBITDA, net profit, cash conversion was calculated, comparisons were made within the same industry among similar firms, and accumulated unreinvested profit was included. Our consultants collaborated with leading investment bank Hefestos Capital and its owner Stefan Petrović, using the bank’s company valuation methodology adapted to our region. The bank assisted with all analyses, and we believe this list reflects the closest approximation of reality.
The list of the 100 richest in the region was produced in collaboration with leading regional media: the Slovenian daily Finance (and the portal Finance Manager), the Croatian economic weekly Lider, the Bosnian daily Oslobođenje, and the economic portal Kapital from North Macedonia,” the methodology for calculating the wealth of regional businessmen was explained, noting that the wealth of Slovenian businessmen was not published due to a different methodology used by Finance.
