This exceptional donkey cheese is made according to a traditional recipe passed down through the centuries. Milking is done three times a day, exclusively by hand. The cheese is extremely precious since they produce only small amounts of milk during this process.

Donkey milk is rich in vitamin C, exceeding cow’s milk by as much as 60 times, while it has a very low percentage of fat. Pule cheese has a soft, crumbly texture and a slightly nutty, sweet taste, and it is also known for its numerous health benefits.

This cheese is produced in the Zasavica nature reserve, where donkeys and Mangalica pigs are raised. The production of this cheese is very expensive in itself, so this price is not surprising. It is mostly used as a rich addition to some dishes.
