Transport operator Milomir Jaćimović stated that his driver’s license was taken away because, as explained to him by the police in Žabalj, the medical examination he underwent was not valid.

Jaćimović claims that the police officers in Žabalj told him the medical examination was not valid because it was conducted at the Novi Sad Institute for Occupational Health of Serbian Railways Workers, and not at the “Higija” Health Center.

“I don’t know what to do anymore, I’m thinking of driving all the buses to the Ministry of the Interior in Žabalj and setting up a tent there. I will consult a lawyer about further steps,” Jaćimović stated, adding that he was not even reimbursed for the cost of the medical examination he underwent, which was not accepted.

According to him, three out of the seven confiscated buses were returned to him, and an additional concern is that he may lose his drivers because “after such complications,” no one will want to work for him anymore.

“This is a new form of retaliation and crackdown,” says Jaćimović, who has been regularly providing transportation for students across Serbia since the beginning of the protests.
