The year behind us will be remembered by Father Đuro Krošnjar from Chicago as the one in which he received the Order of Saint Sava, the highest decoration awarded by the Serbian Orthodox Church.
When they heard this, many in the Serbian diaspora here in America uttered the word “WORTHY!”, because for decades Father Đuro has performed deeds by which he is remembered by both the old and the young, generations who met him and passed through the churches he led, where he was not only a spiritual shepherd, but also a friend, an adviser, and a helping hand whenever someone was in need.
In his 79 years, Father Đuro has witnessed many important events in Serbian history, and certainly the most significant was the church reconciliation after the schism that occurred in 1963 in America, because of which many people in the Serbian diaspora suffered.

WITNESS TO HISTORY: Father Đuro speaks for the first time about events that were shrouded in secrecy
Namely, he is the only living participant in the reconciliation of the two churches, more precisely the negotiations between the so-called schismatic Free Serbian Orthodox Church and the Patriarchate in Belgrade, led by the late Patriarch Pavle, about which he is now speaking publicly for the first time!
Watch the exclusive testimony that Father Đuro gave to our editor Antonio Kovačević, in which he speaks about unforgettable meetings with Patriarch Pavle, Metropolitan Amfilohije, Bishop Atanasije Jevtić, King Peter II Karađorđević, Duke Momčilo Đujić…
About Vojislav Šešelj and Vuk Drašković, who came to America seeking donations from the diaspora and did not know how to cross themselves… and much more…
