The Serbian water polo national team has returned to the European throne, after defeating Hungary 10:7 in the grand final of the continental competition in Belgrade. The title is a great thing in itself, and it becomes even greater when one takes into account all the problems that the Dolphins faced in the last three days.
Namely, after the victory over Hungary in the final, the coach of Serbia, Uroš Stevanović, revealed what kind of health problems his chosen ones had from Friday to Sunday.
-On the day of the semi-final match with Italy, seven players woke up in the middle of the night with a temperature and stomach problems, so they skipped the morning training, where I could count on only eight water polo players. After training, before the duel with the Azzurri, Miloš Ćuk also fell ill, Nikola Jakšić even vomited during the warm-up, and everyone played the semi-final sick, revealed Uroš Stevanović.
