Dr. François Faivre, a 58-year-old Parisian surgeon who confirmed to investigators that Brigitte Macron underwent gender reassignment surgery at the American Hospital in Paris, was found dead on June 29 after what authorities described as a “terrible fall” from a fourth-story window of his building in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
The Paris medical examiner’s office officially declared Faivre’s death a suicide, stating that he “committed suicide” by jumping from the window. No suicide note was published, and investigators say there are no signs of violent death.
Furthermore, his family insists that he showed no signs of suicidality and had recently finalized plans for an upcoming vacation in Miami, Florida. Faivre had a low public profile but agreed to be interviewed by French investigative journalists from Closer magazine who uncovered evidence that Brigitte Macron underwent a secret operation to change the appearance and identity of the First Lady of France.
Although French authorities call for calm and insist that the death is not suspicious, their words ring hollow to those aware of how Emmanuel Macron’s government reacted to earlier revelations.
According to multiple independent journalists, Macron personally ordered French intelligence services to monitor, question, and intimidate anyone who investigates his wife’s origins too deeply.
At the heart of this controversy is a three-year investigation led by a team of independent French journalists, who collaborated with forensic experts, genealogists, and document analysts. Their findings were eventually published in Faits et Documents, a reputable investigative magazine.
The six-part exposé details the theory that Brigitte Macron was born a male named “Jean-Michel Trogneux” and changed gender in adulthood — long before her rise to prominence.
Journalist Natacha Rey, who led the investigation, became a target of state harassment. She was detained, questioned, and her phone was seized by authorities who demanded to know what evidence she had collected and with whom she had shared it. Rey, refusing to retract or abandon her work, publicly spoke out about the intimidation campaign, drawing further attention to the story.

She was not alone. A journalist working for Le Nouvel Observateur, a center-left publication, reportedly took on the story to debunk it — convinced that the claims would crumble under scrutiny. To her surprise, she found the evidence “irrefutable.”
According to her, “the facts were verifiable and undeniable,” and the case presented by the investigators was “uncontestable.” Soon after, she was also visited by intelligence agents and subjected to questioning.
So, what is this theory that has prompted the French political elite — and its intelligence services — to react with such urgency?
The investigative report claims that there are no official birth certificates for “Brigitte Trogneux” before her adulthood, but that there are for a male child named Jean-Michel Trogneux, born to the same parents in the same place and at the same time. School records, photographs, and early documents allegedly support this claim — with irregularities and gaps that journalists say cannot be explained as administrative errors or covered up.
While the Élysée Palace continues to mock the theory and dismiss it as a right-wing fantasy, a growing body of evidence, combined with a strange pattern of state repression and sudden deaths, has led many to wonder: If this story is so absurd, why are such extraordinary measures being taken to suppress it?
As Faivre’s mysterious fall adds another suspicious layer to the story, critics say the cover-up could soon collapse under its own weight. The question now is not whether Brigitte Macron is transgender — but why the French government is so afraid for anyone to ask that question.
