Police last night after 2.30 began to release students and citizens in groups from the Rectorate building in Novi Sad. Several students were arrested, who were taken by police vans to the „Stari grad“ police station, and one doctor who was in the students’ medical team was also arrested.
Professor of the Faculty of Philosophy Norbert Šinkovič told N1 that students and citizens took shelter in the Rectorate after the police intervention and firing a large amount of tear gas.
Rector Dejan Madić called the police and they then entered the building. Šinkovič noted that the inspectors were correct, while the other police officers were more unpleasant. They took away some people’s phones.
