Luka Pešić, a student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who spent more than two hours at the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP) offices in the SIV-1 building, has been released. Pešić described what happened during his time there and why a request was filed to search his home and bring him to the police, reports Nova.rs.
“I gave a statement regarding putting up some posters and stickers with the image of Marko Kričko around Voždovac. This was an event from August of last year. They said a criminal case was filed against me for allegedly endangering security,” he said.
He added that he is not sure whether he even placed those stickers and does not even remember what was on them.
“I wasn’t allowed to use my phone during the search. When I arrived here around 11 a.m., I gave a statement as a citizen, and I requested the presence of a lawyer, which they approved. They didn’t ask me anything beyond those stickers. Allegedly, they endangered Marko Kričko’s security, and that was cited as the reason for all of this,” Pešić explained.
He also stated that he has been informed that legal proceedings have been initiated and expects a call from the prosecutor in the near future.
During the search, Luka’s T-shirt, cap, and sneakers were confiscated, reportedly taken as evidence in photos of him putting up the stickers.

Father of the student: “They turned off his phone, he sat in the back seat”
Luka Pešić’s father described how UKP officers knocked on their door, reports Nova.rs.
“They caught us while we were getting ready for work. Naturally, we were surprised. We weren’t scared because we know Luka did nothing wrong. This is classic pressure from the authorities because of his activism,” he said.
He added that the UKP officers were polite and showed the order authorizing the search of their apartment.
“They didn’t handcuff him. They turned off his phone and he sat in the back seat. There were four officers in the house and two witnesses. Luka’s friends left separately,” he said.
The order specifies a search of the apartment and other premises belonging to the suspect, Luka Pešić. The request for the home search was submitted by the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Mladenovac.
