The Serbian para-athlete Stefan Dimitrijević won a bronze medal at the World Championship in New Delhi.

Dimitrijević was third in the F12 class in shot put, with a throw of 14.23 meters. Gold went to Ukrainian Volodymir Ponamorenko, who threw the shot 17.39 meters and set a new world record, while the world vice-champion became Emils Dzilna from Latvia with a throw of 16.63 meters.

“My coach Veljko Nedeljković and I worked hard for this. The effort paid off and the reward came in the form of a bronze medal and a solid result. As for the heat here and the difficult conditions, the conditions were the same for everyone, so nothing was particularly difficult or easy for me compared to others,” Dimitrijević said after winning the medal.

Our best para-athlete in shot put is coached by Veljko Nedeljković, one of the best domestic shot putters and winner of numerous medals.

Apart from Dimitrijević, Nebojša Đurić also won a medal in New Delhi in the F55 shot put. He set a personal record with a throw of 12.52 meters, which was the second-best result.
