The Minister of the Interior of Montenegro, Danilo Šaranović, stated yesterday that he would support Serbian as the official language, as in 2007, as he said, an injustice was done, and he would also emphasize that he would support the initiative for the Serbian language to be recognized as official in the Constitution of Montenegro.

PRATITE NAS I NA FEJSBUKU:

“I believe that in 2007, when the Constitution was written and the issue of language in Montenegro was addressed, an injustice was done at that time and there was a real basis for the Montenegrin and Serbian languages to be equated”, Šaranović said, appearing on Vijesti television.

He also responded that he would support the proposal that Serbian be the official language, but believes that the Constitution is an obstacle to this, as reported by portalanalitika.me.

“However, I think that this can never happen while the Constitution is as it is”, he concluded.
