Gera signs the poster for “Volja sinovljeva”. The premiere of the epic adventure “Volja sinovljeva” is approaching, and every day the public learns new details that suggest another blockbuster is coming. As we could see on social networks today, the production boasted that the poster for “Volja sinovljeva” was made by the world’s most famous comic book artist, Rajko Milošević Gera.
Comic book fans have been following him for decades, and he gained worldwide fame with “Howard Blake”, but also the legendary “Scalped”, a series promoted as “The Sopranos in an Indian reservation” which became an absolute classic of comics.
Gera’s specific artistic expression has been recognized by many artists, and especially by directors, so his collaboration with Quentin Tarantino on the comic book adaptation of his films “Inglourious Basterds” and “Django Unchained” is not surprising. Soon after, Gera started a new series with Jason Aaron called “The Curse”, which follows the story of the biblical figure Cain. This world-renowned comic book artist is one of the greatest from our region. He published his first comic, “Elemer Jones”, in 1982 in “YU strip”, and after that, successes followed in artistic creation, primarily in America, France, and Spain where he has lived for over three decades.
“It is a great honor to have collaborated with the greatest Serbian comic book artist and author of some of the best comics created in this century. Gera’s style perfectly suits “Volja sinovljeva”. In our first conversation with him, we realized that we love the same films, we are both big fans of westerns, and we have very similar views on art. I am very happy that a wider audience, outside of comic book circles, will have the opportunity to see Gera’s work. Contemporary movie posters are at a low level, they repel more than they attract, and the inclusion of such artists is key to restoring the old glory to the craft of making movie posters,” said director Nemanja Ćeranić.

Although we have only seen one teaser for “Volja” so far, film connoisseurs have already characterized it as the greatest cinematic work of this season, primarily due to its complete genre and production innovation.
This epic adventure inspired by Serbian tradition, set in the distant future, is directed and created by Nemanja Ćeranić, as well as Strahinja Madžarević as creator and screenwriter, behind whom are the production companies “Režim” – led by director Miloš Avramović, as well as Telekom Srbija who recognized the potential and innovation of this project.
The cast includes Igor Benčina, Isidora Simijonović, Marta Bjelica, Sergej Trifunović, Jovo Maksić, Petar Benčina, Ivan Vujić, Svetozar Cvetković, Miodrag Radonjić, Zlatan Vidović, Milica Janevski, Aleksandar Đurica, Anita Mančić, and many others. The author team behind this original film also includes Aljoša Ćeranić as executive producer, co-producer Aleksandar Protić, director of photography Igor Marović, costume designer Ružica Bukvić, while Damjan Paranosić was in charge of the scenography, and the music was composed by Aleksandar Ranđelović.
