The new U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, visited Los Angeles to assess the situation in areas affected by wildfires.
During the visit, Melania had a unique opportunity to speak with a woman in Serbian, sparking excitement among social media users and people from the Balkan region.
A video surfaced on the social network “X,” showing Melania conversing with the woman, after which she hugged and kissed her.
The conversation began when the woman greeted Melania with “dobar dan” (good day), to which the First Lady replied, “dobar dan, kako ste?” (good day, how are you?).
Social media users were initially thrilled that Melania spoke a language understood across the Balkans, but soon a debate arose about which language the First Lady of the U.S. was actually speaking. While some argued she spoke in her native Slovenian, many insisted it was pure Serbian.
