Two years have passed since the death of legendary footballer Sinisa Mihajlovic, and his family is gathered today to celebrate Saint Nicholas Day.

Recently, the second anniversary of the death of legendary footballer Sinisa Mihajlovic was marked, and his mother and brother Drazen traveled to Italy to be there for the anniversary.

They decided to stay in Rome and celebrate their family’s patron saint there.

The entire Mihajlovic family is gathered today, and Sinisa’s brother Drazen shared an emotional photo.

On the table is an icon of Saint Nicholas, wine, and a slava cake.

Soon, Ariana also took a picture of the icon and tagged all the children in the photo.

Two years after Sinisa’s death, Ariana Mihajlovic’s confession to the magazine “Chi” carries a special weight.

– At first, it was terrible. I felt him in the house, everywhere… Then I decided to live, not to give up. Nicolas, the youngest son, would see me alone and ask when I would go out. Then I surrounded myself with friends, tried not to let them see me sad. My smiles were forced. With Sinisa in my heart. He will always be there, as long as I am. I will find him again…

“Judge me, I don’t care”

Despite the immense pain, Ariana is aware that life must go on.

She often evokes memories of happy days when the whole family was together. However, there are always critics on duty, so she is forced to face negative reactions as well.

– Some saw me drinking an aperitif, there were also those who condemned me for dressing a certain way… But, they don’t walk in my shoes. Judge me, I don’t care. I have a brother who suffered from depression, do you understand? I myself risked falling into such a state. I can’t, I couldn’t, I shouldn’t… We have to start over, Sinisa would want it. But he’s missing, like air.

She revealed how the whole family coped with Sinisa Mihajlovic’s four-year battle – a fight for life.

– I spent almost four years in hospitals. My husband had two bone marrow transplants and was happy about every test that went well. I watched people fight to prolong their lives… It’s one thing to talk about pain, it’s another to experience it. A week before my husband died, he ran ten kilometers, and I should break down and fall into depression? No! Sinisa was a born fighter, he held on bravely until the last moment. He only lost the last round, just when we all hoped he had won the match and that everything would be fine. The family was with him, they didn’t leave him, he lived to become a grandfather… He had that strength – to fight, to continue, to endure everything.

‒ I continue to live for my children. I’ll tell you something: Sinisa organized life until the end. He planned to visit Antonio Conte and Roberto de Zerbi in London to exchange experiences about football and coaching techniques, but unfortunately, he didn’t make it – says Ariana Mihajlovic’s great confession.
