Today, you can buy a cold beer at a kiosk, in a store, or at a gas station in every country in the region, but soon this will no longer be possible in Croatia.
In this country, restrictions on the sale of chilled alcoholic beverages will be introduced without a special permit from the city or municipality.
According to Croatian media, the Ministry of Economy plans to amend the Law on Trade by the end of the year, which will enable local authorities to introduce significant restrictions on the sale of chilled alcoholic beverages. According to initial information, cities and municipalities will have the right to determine in which establishments and at what times such drinks can be sold.
Tourist destinations or cities that have problems with all-day alcohol consumption could ban sales after 5 p.m. or at some other time.
- The centers of cities will no longer look as they do now at night, due to drunkenness. Such purchases are not possible in some other countries either. In Austria, for example, you cannot buy alcohol at a kiosk or a gas station at a ski resort – stated a source from the Ministry of Economy to the Croatian portal 24 sata.
