A three-year-old girl from Zaječar died in a serious traffic accident that occurred last night on the Niš – Svrljig road near the village of Malča. Her five-year-old sister, mother (34), and father (35) sustained serious injuries.
They were in a “Fiat Doblo” vehicle with Zaječar license plates, which collided with a “Seat,” also with license plates from the same city. The twenty-three-year-old driver of the “Seat” sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The police confirmed that the accident occurred at 00:20 on the state road IB class near Malča, and that traffic was interrupted until 2:30 due to the investigation.
“Four teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that it was an accident with one fatality, and there were five other injured individuals who sustained polytraumas to the chest, head, and abdomen. They were transported to the Niš University Clinical Center for further diagnostics,” said the on-duty doctor from the Niš Emergency Medical Service.
Immediately after the investigation was completed, the police removed the vehicles from this busy road to prevent new accidents. However, remnants of the vehicles were scattered at the scene, indicating that the impact was forceful.
The investigation is being led by the Basic Public Prosecution in Niš.
