On Wednesday night, 11 NBA games were played. Among the winners were the Denver Nuggets against New Orleans and Miami against Philadelphia, with outstanding performances from two Serbians, Nikola Jokić and Nikola Jović.
Denver defeated the Pelicans for the second time, this time on their home court. Jokić delivered another stellar performance, coming close to a triple-double but falling short by two rebounds. In the end, Denver celebrated a 144-119 victory.
The Serbian star recorded 38 points, shooting 15/28 from the field, 5/13 from three-point range, along with 10 assists, eight rebounds, one steal, and one block. Denver’s top scorer was Michael Porter Jr. with 39 points and 12 rebounds. On the other side, Zion Williamson scored 28 points, Trey Murphy added 25 with nine assists, while Karlo Matković reached double figures with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Nikola Jović continued his strong form. In Miami’s 108-101 win over Philadelphia, he recorded his sixth consecutive game with double-digit points and his second straight with 20+ points. This was his highest-scoring game of the season and the second-best of his career. He finished with 23 points, missing only one shot out of nine attempts—a three-pointer—while making three from beyond the arc. He also contributed seven assists, five rebounds, and one block.
For Miami, Tyler Herro was the leading scorer with 30 points, adding seven rebounds and seven assists. In Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey led with 31 points, while Kelly Oubre Jr. had 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Bogdan Bogdanović missed his sixth consecutive game for Atlanta and was not in the lineup for the fifth straight time. The Hawks lost at home to San Antonio 126-125, with Victor Wembanyama securing the win by hitting a free throw with two seconds left. In his Spurs debut, De’Aaron Fox stood out with 24 points and 13 assists.
Due to injury, Vasilije Micić was also out of action as his Charlotte Hornets lost at home to Milwaukee 112-102. Meanwhile, Darko Rajaković’s Toronto Raptors suffered a heavy home defeat against Memphis, 138-107.
