A presentation of Republican Party candidates for the elections to be held next year in the state of Illinois and across America was held in Chicago yesterday. All the favorites for the positions of governor, senator, and congressman gathered in one place, and the event was organized by one Serb, Slobodan Bodo Jokić.
Jokić, who lives and works in Chicago, is the only politician of Serbian descent in this area, and currently holds a significant position as a Republican Committeeman in the Maine Township. He opened the gathering, and before the start, we asked him how important he is to Republicans in this state…
— It is very important; all the strongest candidates for high offices will gather here, as well as people who want to hear how they think about the problems that plague us. Unfortunately, we are often on the losing side in this state, but I hope that the situation will change now because taxes are higher than ever, crime is worse than ever and is coming from the city into our suburbs, and our children are being taught immorality in schools, which is the most important reason why I started engaging in politics — Jokić pointed out.
Candidates for governor who spoke at this gathering included: Dabrowski, Heidner, Severino, Solomon, Bailey (Delmar), Mendrick (Renteria), as well as politicians who will participate in the race for the US Senate: Long, Capparelli, Chlebek, Goodman, Tracey, and candidates for Congressmen: Rice, Cleveland, Hoxie…
We had the opportunity to talk with some of the strongest Republican candidates for governor, senator, and congressman about the biggest problems plaguing Illinois (watch the video), as well as the chances of Republicans finally winning power in this American state and repainting it from the Democratic blue to their red color!

Everyone agrees that Illinois needs an urgent change due to high taxes, illegal immigration, high crime rates, a poor educational system, as well as mass emigration of citizens who are moving to Florida, Texas, and Arizona because of all the aforementioned reasons.
We spoke with Dragan Vujošević, the former president of the Serbian National Defense, about the chances of a Serb winning a significant office in Illinois in the future, like Rod Blagojevich, who was elected governor for two terms.
— I think Bodo Jokić has great chances to run for a high office one day, governor or senator, why not? I am amazed at how many people know him, and how much everyone adores him, respects him, and respects what he says. I will do everything on my part to help, and I will talk to other people from our community as well, it would be a shame for him not to use his potential, because in that way he will be helpful to both himself and all of us — Vujošević pointed out.
From other candidates we spoke with at the convention, similar complaints could be heard about the Democratic regime that has been in power in Illinois for a long time, and some were particularly resentful of Governor Pritzker, who is a thorn in the side for many.
