Serbian shooters Anastasija Živković and Stefan Agović have won a gold medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, in the 10m mixed air rifle event.

A Tense Final Leads to Gold

In the final, Živković and Agović defeated the Slovenian pair Maksimilijan Žarić and Jana Kužnik by a score of 12:10, even after Slovenia had two chances to close out the match at 8:10.

“The feeling is wonderful. It was really tough; we had a few technical issues, but we won together, as a team,” said Anastasija Živković, who had previously won a silver medal in the individual air rifle event on Monday, as reported by the Olympic Committee of Serbia (OKS).

Stefan Agović added that the final against Slovenia was very close.

“When the Slovenian coach called a timeout, our coach also used it to give us motivating words – ‘Believe in yourselves! Who is the strongest and best? Serbia is the best’ – That gave us extra motivation, and we reached for gold!” Agović concluded.
