SERBIA DEFEATED BY SPAIN: Our Handball Players in a Difficult Situation at the Very Start of the European Championship!

Serbia’s handball players lost to Spain 27:29 (15:19) in the match of the first round of the group stage at the European Championship.

This defeat has put Serbia in a very difficult position already at the start of the competition.

Namely, at this European Championship the rules are somewhat different than before, because previously three teams advanced with points carried over, while this time only the top two teams from each group move on.

Thus, the loss to the Spaniards throws us into an “hellishly” difficult situation, as matches against Austria and also one of the biggest favorites of the tournament, the German national team, still await us.

And while there should not be major problems against Austria, Serbia could play that match only for honor, since it is scheduled for the end, that is, the third round.

The Eagles are already playing against the Germans in two days, and with a loss they would effectively end their tournament.
