An unusual incident occurred in San Francisco during the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets, when, during free throws taken by Nikola Jokić, security removed two Serbian fans from the stands who had come to watch the best basketball player in the world.

The ejected fans unfurled a large Serbian tricolor to greet Jokić while he was shooting free throws, but security immediately reacted and ordered them to leave the arena.

An official explanation for this decision soon followed — fans in the stands are not allowed to wave flags, banners, or signs on poles, nor are they permitted to display flags larger than 28×43 centimeters.

The flag unfurled by the Serbian fans was far larger than the prescribed dimensions, but the situation could have been resolved with a simple warning.
