The United States of America has indefinitely suspended the planned Strategic Dialogue with Kosovo due to concerns regarding the moves of the temporary government, which have increased tensions and instability and thereby limited the ability of the USA to productively cooperate with Kosovo on common priorities.
“We remain committed to advancing the common interests shared by the United States and the people of Kosovo. Our relationship with Kosovo is based on a common goal: strengthening peace and stability as a foundation for mutual economic prosperity. Unfortunately, recent moves and statements by interim Prime Minister Kurti present a challenge to the progress achieved over many years,” it was published on the embassy’s official website and they add:
“The Strategic Dialogue was designed to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties for the benefit of the American and Kosovar people. We hope that in the future, when the conditions for it exist, we will continue with such efforts. We know that this is a goal that the people of Kosovo prioritize.”
