He then continued his service in the Belgrade Police Department, within the Criminal Police Directorate Headquarters, where he was engaged in solving the most serious criminal offenses.
From the Belgrade Police Department, due to service needs, he moved to the Security Information Agency, to Directorate VIII, to the position of deputy head of the directorate.
He became Deputy Commander of the Unit for the Protection of Certain Persons and Facilities (JZO) in 2022, and in 2023 he was assigned to the position of Commander of the JZO.
“During his career, Marko Kričak participated in and led several major operations, among which the action to suppress irregular migration on the territory of the Republic of Serbia stands out in particular, thereby protecting the state from these forms of threats. He also distinguished himself through active participation in preserving state security over the past year, where he selflessly and unconditionally defended the constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia. For his exceptional contribution, achieved results, and merits in preserving and improving security, in October 2021 he received the Medal for Merit, Second Class, in the Security Information Agency. Additionally, in November 2023, Marko Kričak received recognition for exceptional contribution and achieved results in his work in the Ministry of the Interior. Kričak is known for his loyalty to the regime and has been accused of a series of brutalities against students at protests, including a threat of rape.
The report on the conduct of the former JZO commander Marko Kričak, whom several detained students accuse of violence, and whom student Nikolina Sinđelić accuses of threatening her with rape, has not yet been completed, and the question remains whether the Internal Affairs Sector has even begun the investigation.
Instead of an investigation against him, Kričak filed a lawsuit against Nikolina Sinđelić “for insult to honor and reputation” and is seeking half a million dinars.
“That Marko Kričak worked at ‘Porsche Leasing.’ From ‘Porsche Leasing’ he went a bit on a hunting trip with Zvonko Veselinović and Nikola Petrović, and from the hunt—straight into the BIA. That’s how you choose personnel,” said Miroslav Aleksić, leader of the opposition People’s Movement of Serbia, who has on several occasions linked Kričak with the two controversial businessmen.
