Iran continued its attacks this morning on countries of the Persian Gulf and Israel as a reaction to the killing of top military official Ali Larijani, with reports of casualties and injuries coming from multiple locations.

Israel continued pressure on Lebanon with attacks it said were aimed at militants of the pro-Iranian group Hezbollah, and in strikes on residential buildings in Beirut killed at least six people.

In Iran, the Bushehr nuclear power plant complex was hit by a projectile, but there were no injuries and the facility suffered no damage, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said.

IAEA Director Rafael Grossi reiterated his call for “maximum restraint during the conflict in order to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident.”

The price of Brent crude, the international benchmark, remained above $100 per barrel early this morning.

Iran’s judiciary announced that one man had been executed on charges of spying for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, and the judiciary’s Mizan news agency identified him as Kourosh Keyvani, reporting that he had “provided images and information about sensitive locations” to Israel.

New attacks were reported this morning in several Gulf countries, including in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, which hosts many of its oil fields, as well as in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Iran has also not relaxed its control over the Strait of Hormuz, a shipping route through which a fifth of the world’s oil passes.

Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard said this morning that, due to the killing of Larijani, it had targeted central Israel with missiles.

Israel’s medical service reported that two people were killed in Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv.

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad was also attacked this morning, two Iraqi security officials said.

Israel leveled a residential building in central Beirut about an hour after issuing an evacuation notice, marking the fourth time the building has been targeted.

The Israeli military claims that Hezbollah uses the building to store “millions of dollars intended to finance its activities,” without providing evidence.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that in other attacks on residential buildings in central Beirut at least six people were killed and 24 wounded.

The Israeli military also said it had launched a wave of strikes targeting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon “in response to gunfire on Israeli territory.”
