The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) submitted a new request to the US Department of the Treasury on September 28 for the issuance of a special license that postpones the full implementation of sanctions and enables the unimpeded performance of the company’s operational activities, NIS announced.

NIS also submitted an amendment to the request for removal from the SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) list, the statement said, adding that this is a long-term and complex process, and that the initial request was sent on March 14 of this year.

The start of the application of sanctions against NIS has been postponed until October 8-9.
