Marko Nikolić from Vranje has been awarded the “Svetislav Milić – Heartfelt to the Youth” award in the field of humanitarian work and peaceful struggle for human rights. He achieved this by running 1,420 kilometers in the desert and raising €80,000 for the treatment of a young boy, it was announced today.

Nikolić is a prominent athlete and humanitarian, known for his readiness to help people in need and who, “risking his health and life,” has so far saved two young lives and raised significant funds for the treatment of children.

In 2018, he ran a thousand kilometers from Niš to Athens, raising €80,000 for the treatment of the girl Teodora. In 2023, he conquered Kilimanjaro, raising €20,000 for the treatment of three children from Vranje. At the end of 2023, he ran 1,420 kilometers through the Moroccan desert, raising €80,000 for the treatment of little Maksim.

The “Svetislav Milić – Heartfelt to the Youth” awards will be presented on November 15th at a ceremony at the National Theater in Niš at 12 noon, and Nikolić is the winner in the third category.
