A group of several dozen students from the University of Pristina, based in Kosovska Mitrovica, protested in the northern part of the city. In a statement, the students stated that they were protesting against the repression of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija by the Pristina authorities in a show of solidarity with their people.

They started their silent walk at 12:44, with sellotape taped over their mouths, from the student dormitories, along the central street and promenade to the main bridge over the Ibar River, displaying their student IDs.

They stayed briefly at the bridge and returned to the northern part of the city. The police noticeably increased their presence on the bridge, but without members of special units.

In a statement, the students stated that they were protesting against the repression of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija by the Pristina authorities in a show of solidarity with their people.

The students announce that this is the beginning of the fight for a better life for both students and the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

With sellotape taped over their mouths, they wanted to show how little their rights and the rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija are respected.

The raised student IDs symbolically represent a red card for the Pristina police and institutions for, as they say, the kind of terror they are perpetrating against Serbs.

The lack of Serbian goods is affecting the work of the student canteen; due to the closure of the post office and the ban on dinars, it has become impossible to register and pay for exams, certify semesters, and enroll for the year is a problem, the excessive presence of the police also causes discomfort and fear among students, the student organization warns.

Various forms of protest will be organized in the coming days, about which students will be informed through social networks.
