The Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), Porfirije, expressed his deep sorrow over the serious injury of a student who was struck by a car in Belgrade, stating that “aggression and violence will bring no good to anyone.”
In a statement released by the SPC last night, the Patriarch emphasized that he expects those responsible for this act to be held accountable under the law and noted that he will pray for the injured girl’s health and swift recovery.
“Again and again, I warn that aggression and violence will bring no good to anyone. I call on everyone for peace and mutual respect,” Patriarch Porfirije stated in the announcement.
