Partizan basketball players defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv in Belgrade Arena, in the 19th round of the EuroLeague with a score of 98:75. 1

The Black and Whites started the game fantastically, in every possible way. With a large amount of energy, Željko Obradović’s chosen ones entered the match, and it was clear to everyone that they would give their all to achieve their ninth victory in the elite competition. And they succeeded, without any problems…

Partizan’s basketball players were “flying” across the court, and in the opening minutes of the match, they were particularly effective in defense, intercepting several balls and creating a dangerous advantage with easy points in transition.

Everything went as planned in the attack as well, the guests from Tel Aviv could not stop the onslaught of the Steamroller, and by the end of the first quarter, the home team had a double-digit advantage. The Black and Whites probably played their best first quarter of the season, had six steals, and the Partizan’s lead after the first 10 minutes was as much as 15 points.

The guests played a little better in the second quarter and with a 12-2 run managed to return to the match in terms of the score, however, the Black and Whites managed to repel the opponent’s onslaught, play at a high level again, and go to the locker room with a 16-point advantage.

However, it was clear that Maccabi would not give up so easily and that the “Pride of Israel” would try to get back into the match, which happened in the third quarter. Partizan’s attack stopped at one point, while the guests started to score and get within -8, however, they couldn’t do more than that.

With three consecutive threes, two of which were scored by Sterling Brown, the Black and Whites managed to stop the opponent’s onslaught and restore a convincing advantage, which continued to grow steadily.

The home basketball players played aggressively again in defense, stole the ball which allowed them easy points in transition, and the Steamroller team entered the final quarter with a huge lead.

Considering that Partizan opened the final quarter with a +23 point advantage, it was clear that the guests needed a miracle to turn the game around, but Željko Obradović did not allow his players any relaxation.

This did not happen, the Black and Whites controlled the situation on the court, maintained their advantage until the very end of the match, and in the end, completely deservedly celebrated!

Sterling Brown was the most efficient player in the winning team with 21 points, followed by Washington with 13, and Karlik Jones finished the match with 11 points. On the other side, Tamir Blatt stood out with 16 points, Dibartolomeo recorded 15, and Jaylen O’Neal scored 12 points.
