Donald Trump revealed in a recent interview with The New York Times that P. Diddy sent him a letter requesting a pardon.
Trump joked and asked reporters whether they wanted to see the letter, which he ultimately did not show. He also said that he is not considering a pardon for Diddy.
“I call him Puff Daddy. He asked me for a pardon,” Trump said.
Diddy’s team did not want to comment on Trump’s claims or on the status of any potential pardon. In addition, according to the website Deadline, Trump considered a presidential pass for Diddy in July of last year, but later abandoned that idea.
Diddy’s lawyers at the time confirmed that they had tried to gain the favor of the White House.
In addition, under an expedited appeals process, Diddy is expected to be released from prison in New Jersey on May 25, 2028.
