In a traffic accident that occurred in Brezovica, a 25-year-old passenger car driver was injured. The driver, who is otherwise a police officer with the Virovitica–Podravina Police Administration, was off duty at the time of the accident.
The accident occurred when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a brick wall at the entrance to a yard. The driver was not driving in the middle of the traffic lane, but crossed the entire width of the roadway, went onto the shoulder, and ended up in a canal.
A breathalyzer test determined that the driver had 1.93 g/kg of alcohol in his blood and was not wearing a seat belt. Due to driving under the influence of alcohol, disciplinary measures will be taken, and misdemeanor proceedings will also be initiated.
