Plainclothes police accompanying protesters in New Belgrade stopped the woman as she attempted to flee the scene.

The driver of the Citroën initially struck stewards at the front of the protest column, then continued driving, hitting several others along the way.

The woman behind the wheel tossed several stewards aside with her vehicle and carried the injured young woman on the hood before the victim fell off, hitting her head on the curb. The injured woman was transported to the Emergency Center for medical care.

According to N1, the driver was identified as Milica Stojanović, 26. Footage shared on social media shows her vehicle initially stationary, but despite a group of students standing in front of her, she accelerated, knocking down the student.

Milica Stojanović has been brought to the police station, and further investigation by the police and prosecution is underway.
