In the request, NIS emphasizes the importance of the company’s regular operation for the economy of the Republic of Serbia, as well as ongoing negotiations on the change of ownership structure, stating that the extension of the operational license would also provide the necessary timeframe for interested parties to finalize these talks.
The company NIS submitted on February 12 to the US Department of the Treasury a new request for the issuance of a special license which enables the unhindered performance of the company’s operational activities even after February 20, when the deadline provided by the previous license expires.
In the request, NIS emphasizes the importance of the company’s regular operation for the economy of the Republic of Serbia, as well as ongoing negotiations on the change of ownership structure, stating that the extension of the operational license would also provide the necessary timeframe for interested parties to finalize these talks.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control – OFAC of the US Department of the Treasury previously issued a license to shareholders and interested parties for negotiations on changes in the ownership structure of NIS with validity until March 24, 2026.
The company NIS thanks all domestic and foreign institutions that support the efforts to enable the company’s unhindered business operations.
