Jovan Ikić, a karate practitioner who knocked out a man who attacked people at a Beogradski Sindikat concert in Futog, has been sentenced to one year of house arrest with an ankle monitor.

The incident occurred during a performance by the group, when a group of men threw paint at the performers and audience members, then attempted to flee.

One of the attackers was caught by athlete Jovan Ikić, who subdued him with two blows, leaving the assailant on the ground. Following this event, Ikić was arrested.

“An agreement on plea bargain for the criminal offense of violent behavior at a public event or sports gathering has been reached with the competent prosecutor’s office. He will receive house arrest for one year with electronic surveillance,” said lawyer Marko Zarić.

It’s worth noting that while the attackers who assaulted citizens and the band from Belgrade remain free, Ikić, who defended the citizens, was swiftly sentenced. Additionally, the police officer who arrested the men throwing paint has been suspended.
