Residents of Novi Sad protested last night on Branimira Ćosića Street, where the apartment of former Prime Minister and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) President Miloš Vučević is located. An intervention police unit in riot gear arrived around 1 AM, and a cordon pushed back the demonstrators, separating two groups – those protesting and SNS members, 021.rs reported.

Tensions Escalate
Citizens had been blocking the turn from Novosadskog sajma Street into Branimira Ćosića since 8 PM.
The gathered crowd chanted “thieves, thieves,” and “pump it,” and wrote messages on the asphalt such as “Your hands are bloody” and “Thief.”
Around 11 PM, a conflict erupted between demonstrators and several SNS members who had been sitting in a nearby cafe throughout the evening.
Some members of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) were hit with eggs during protests last night.
The SNS members reportedly charged towards the citizens several times before retreating back into the cafe. No major conflict ensued.
