Serbian Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut said today that he is not satisfied with the work of certain ministries and certain ministers, adding that because of this he is considering a Government reshuffle.

“I am thinking about reconstruction, but the reconstruction will primarily be decided by them themselves, that is, by the work they achieve and the results they will achieve. I think we will certainly move forward and we must think about improving everything the Government does… Our Government is working, it is certainly very responsible, but I am not satisfied that some ministers appear exclusively on Instagram, take photos and that this in fact becomes their only contribution,” Macut told Radio Television of Serbia.

Macut added that, on the other hand, he is satisfied with the work of certain ministers.

“What is important is that the results that are set, which the ministers and the ministries themselves must create, with the numerous associates they have in the ministries, should be a reflection of the work of these ministries,” Macut said.

Asked how likely a reshuffle is at this moment, Macut replied that for now he cannot say, adding that he is not satisfied with certain ministries and the attitude of ministers toward the areas they represent.

“We must always find and we can find some solution, we can improve, we must improve as much and as soon as possible, the work of certain sectors, and that is something they all know, they are all ready and sufficiently young, sufficiently energetic or with very great experience to be able to overcome everything that falls within the scope of work of each of those departments,” Macut said.

Ministers given instructions to prepare development proposals, no use of AI

The Prime Minister of Serbia Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut said today that at the first meeting of the working group for investments from 2028 to 2030, which he chaired, ministers were given instructions that they must prepare rational plan proposals and that already during next week there will be an analysis of what is a priority for a particular ministry.

“The President of Serbia announced two phases in strategic development, until 2030 and until 2035. We have a long-term plan but I think that the rationalization of that plan until 2030 is what is realistic and what we should focus on,” Macut told the Morning News of RTS.

“Already during next week we will have an analysis of what is a priority for which ministry without ideas that are either unachievable or too megalomaniac. At the first meeting of the working group I made it completely clear that we must urgently focus, that we must make such a plan. Time passes quickly. It has already been almost a year since the existence of this government. That means we must become serious,” he emphasized.

He added that it is necessary to focus on what is essential in the development moment considering Serbia’s geopolitical position.

“Soon we will come out with a plan and we will talk with the President to see whether what has been prepared is what he had in mind. I think we must be creative, we cannot use artificial intelligence. Everyone must use their own creativity, because everyone who leads departments is already sufficiently involved or enough time has passed since the formation of this government for them to be creative enough to come up with what is discussed in the government and what is the state agenda at this moment. I think that creativity is what will be valued the most,” he said.
