The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported on Sunday that there was no increase in radiation levels after the American attacks on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including the Fordow facility.
– After the attacks on three nuclear facilities in Iran – including Fordow – the IAEA can confirm that so far there has been no increase in radiation levels around these locations – the IAEA announced on Platform X.
The Agency stated that further assessments of the situation in Iran will be provided as soon as additional information becomes available.
The Fordow uranium enrichment plant is believed to be one of Israel’s most important targets in the conflict with Iran.
Iran previously announced that it had evacuated the three attacked nuclear facilities before the bombing.
The US bombed the Iranian nuclear facilities Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, US President Donald Trump announced earlier, boasting that the facilities were “completely destroyed.”
Iran’s nuclear watchdog said there were no signs of contamination around the affected facilities and no danger to residents in the surrounding areas, Reuters reported.
The Fordow nuclear facility did not suffer significant damage, a state official told the Iranian news agency Fars, noting that the damaged parts of the facility are “on the surface” and can be easily restored, Reuters reported.
No radioactive traces were detected in the environment of Saudi Arabia and other Persian Gulf countries after the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, the Saudi nuclear watchdog announced on Sunday on Platform X.
