Denver’s basketball players defeated the Phoenix team 125-123 on the road in the NBA league, with a winning basket and a new triple-double by Serbian center Nikola Jokić.
The Sombor native finished the game with 23 points and 17 rebounds and 17 assists, which brought him his 29th triple-double of the season.
After an impressive performance, Nikola stood in front of the cameras and shared his impressions.
First, he reflected on the winning basket.
“We ran a pick, I think there was some mistake in their coverage. Jamal had a mid-range shot, he passed the ball to me, I shot and scored,” said Jokić.
At the reporters’ insistence, he also commented on his performance in this game.

“The flow of the game suited me, we were hitting our shots, teammates were open, I wasn’t turning the ball over much. I think everything went my way,” Nikola was modest.
Denver will play nine more games until the end of the regular season.
“We need to stay healthy, try to play our basketball, do the small things on the court better. Everyone needs to do their part,” says Jokić.
Denver had a problem with their flight before this duel.
“This happens to us, like every flight has a problem. We knew we would land late, but we’ve been in that situation before, it didn’t surprise us – it was the same seven days ago. That can’t be an excuse, you have to go out on the court and play the game,” Jokić emphasizes.
After a reporter’s question about what he prefers – points or assists, Nikola recalled the wise words of his late friend.
“My friend, who passed away, used to tell me that an assist makes two people happy, and points only one,” said Nikola Jokić.
