The hit theatrical performance “Lepa Brena Project,” already seen by over 100,000 people in the Balkans and across Europe, is finally coming to the American continent! Through a combination of acting, singing, and dancing, the theatrical performance “Lepa Brena Project” has become a true phenomenon, taking us from tears to laughter and delivering deep messages about popularity, the breakup of the former country, and the fates of its citizens of all nations and faiths.

The performance deals with the life of one of Yugoslavia’s biggest stars, Lepa Brena, whose various versions on stage are portrayed by five actors (four actresses and one actor), and through them, they show all the complexity and contradictions of the last forty years in the Balkan region.

Through the symbol of Lepa Brena, an entertainment star who won the hearts of all of Yugoslavia, they also show socio-political transformations, pride and pain, disappointments and hopes, and how Brena’s star faced the pressures of life’s tragedies.

Five faces of Lepa Brena are masterfully portrayed by actresses: Jasna Đuričić, Aleksandra Janković, Jelena Ilić, Tijana Marković, and Jovana Belović, as well as one actor, Vladimir Aleksić.

The main characters of the performance – Brena of Construction, Brena the Businesswoman, Brena the Songstress, Brena the Yugoslav, and Brena the Sexuality – draw the audience into a conversation through monologues, connecting with them.
