A Montenegrin citizen, Aleksandar Jokanović (30), died two days ago along with our fellow citizen, Tamara Lapadatović (35), who was also his girlfriend, in a traffic accident in New York.
As reported by American media, the accident occurred early Sunday morning when the couple was riding a motorcycle through the Upper East Side.
According to a police statement, their motorcycle collided with a car near 3rd Avenue in Manhattan. Both died at the scene from the impact.

Funds are being raised to transfer the bodies to Serbia Also, through the same website, funds are being raised to return Tamara’s body from Niš to her native Serbia.

Since moving to New York in 2017. She brought joy to everyone around her, facing life with a smile and unwavering kindness. “In this difficult time, we are raising funds to help with the transportation of her body from the USA to Serbia and to support her grieving family. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Let’s honor Tamara’s beautiful spirit by coming together to support those she loved. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. The investigation is ongoing and will determine all the details of the horrific traffic accident in which the two young people lost their lives.”
