The defense of Milorad Dodik paid 36,500 convertible marks (about 18,000 euros) into the B&H budget yesterday as a substitute for a one-year prison sentence according to the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Sarajevo portal Raport reported.
The Court of B&H accepted Dodik’s request to pay the fine on August 12 of this year.
Dodik’s lawyers paid the fine into the B&H budget, and the confirmation will be submitted to the file of the Court of B&H, which legally convicted him.
According to the final judgment of the Court of B&H, in addition to the one-year prison sentence, Dodik is banned from engaging in politics for six years.
Based on that judgment, the Central Election Commission of B&H (CEC) made a decision to terminate Dodik’s presidential mandate, and yesterday it decided that early elections for the president of RS will be held on November 23.
