Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Novi Sad have arrested Miša Bačulov (43) from this city, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of assaulting an official in the performance of official duty, it was announced today.

“It is suspected that last night, at an unannounced public gathering in front of the Faculty of Philosophy, he led an attack on police officers and physically assaulted them, pushing and hitting their shields, trying to break through the cordon and enter this educational institution,” they stated in a press release.

He has been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the Basic Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad with a criminal complaint.

The Police Administration in Novi Sad continues to work on identifying and locating other persons who, last night, in front of the Faculty of Philosophy, participated in the attack on police officers.

Let us recall that Bačulov, from the “Be a Hero” Movement, was in front of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad two days ago, on August 26, when incidents with the police occurred.

Shortly after that, a large number of pro-government media outlets began publishing articles stating that he “led the attack on the police in Novi Sad.”
