The Ministry of Education of Serbia announced that it has paid the remaining part of funds for the salaries of teaching staff for the preparation and execution of classes for February, i.e., for March, to higher education institutions that have resumed work and begun conducting classes and organizing exams.
Minister of Education Dejan Vuk Stanković emphasized that the funds were paid in accordance with earlier announcements and agreements and that the principled position of the Ministry is that all higher education institutions that begin conducting classes and make up for missed lessons, in a way that students can achieve learning outcomes in each individual subject and study program as a whole, will have their funds for that work reimbursed.
According to the statement from the Ministry of Education, educational activities are currently not being conducted at less than ten percent of higher education institutions.
The transfer of funds was made to a total of 53 higher education institutions, which submitted documented periodic reports on class compensation and exam organization, with 46 institutions receiving the remaining amount for February, while seven institutions, which received funds for February on May 13, received a part of the remaining funds for March.
The Ministry of Education stated that it will continue to successively calculate and transfer to higher education institutions, which have begun conducting classes and organizing exams, the remaining amounts of funds for the months in which educational activities were not carried out, upon submission of documented periodic reports from higher education institutions on the degree of class realization, i.e., class compensation and exam organization.
