Milena Orubović Đukić from Kosjerić, who was released from custody after previously being detained with six other people from Kosjerić, said that “everything can be seen and proven” and that she “is not physically or in any other way violent,” as is being alleged against her.
As a reminder, seven people from Kosjerić were previously detained and are charged with the criminal offense of assaulting an official in the performance of official duty.
“In one way, it was expected, because we have seen this government’s showdowns with everyone who has in some way spoken out, whether through institutions, like the director of the SAJ, or through the arrests of us, activists. I have been on the streets for years and have no problem speaking out, but one thing is certain—I am not physically or in any way violent—which is what I am being accused of, just like the six others who were also detained,” she stated.
She added that “everything can be seen and proven and that everything is clear.”
“All detentions have one goal—to intimidate and break all who have bravely marched and spoken out for years. It hasn’t worked so far, and it won’t from now on,” she said.
Lawyers confirmed that the police detention measure of up to 48 hours was upheld for the six people from Kosjerić. They also said that the detained individuals will be brought before the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Požega and emphasized that constant public support is necessary, writes nova.rs.
