The meeting between the President of the Serbian Government, Đuro Macut, and representatives of the University has concluded, and one of the participants, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Goran Roglić, told FoNet that he does not wish to comment on the discussions and that an official statement is expected.
When asked by journalists whether the meeting went well, Roglić, immediately after leaving the meeting at the Government, replied only “relatively.”
The meeting between the Rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Đokić, representatives of the University’s groups, and Prime Minister Đuro Macut began at 11 a.m., N1 unofficially learned. The meeting was held at the Serbian Government building.
In addition to the rector and the prime minister, the meeting was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Teaching, Dejan Filipović, as well as representatives of the University’s groups – medical, social-humanistic, natural-mathematical, and technical-technological.

Đokić accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation yesterday to continue discussions on problems in higher education, scheduled for April 30, but also set conditions under which he would attend the meeting.
He stated that the document “Platform of the University of Belgrade for discussion with representatives of the competent authorities and institutions” would be presented at this meeting as a starting point for dialogue.
The first meeting between Đokić and Macut was held on April 22, and the Government assessed the meeting as “constructive.” The new meeting was supposed to be held the next day, but the rector stated that he would not attend due to the criminal complaint filed against him by Miloš Pavlović, one of the “students who want to learn,” and added that “it was already clear during the first meeting that there is no political will to take the necessary steps: fulfilling the legitimate student demands, urgently withdrawing the unconstitutional Ordinance on norms and standards of working conditions of universities and faculties, as well as the cessation of media, inspection, financial and other pressures on the academic community.”
Macut called the rector’s decision not to attend the meeting “unacceptable” and “unacademic,” after which the rector sent a new invitation for discussion.
